The Photonic Systems Research Lab of The University of Hong Kong plan to recruit two to three graduate students in the 2010–11 academic year. Both Master and PhD applicants are welcome. International students are particularly invited to apply.
The admitted students will be given full studentship (scholarship), with stipend sufficient for living expenses and tuition. Our research directions include photonics, fiber nonlinearities, microwave photonics, optical signal processing, and biophotonics, but may extend to related areas. We also welcome proposals from students regarding different areas of research.

To apply, you need to have a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering, or equivalent (such as physics, biomedical engineering), by August 2010. A Master degree would be a plus for PhD applicants. You should apply directly to the University through the Graduate School, but if you are interested in working in the above areas, you should put Dr. Kenneth K. Y. Wong as the proposed supervisor and "photonics" as the proposed study area, and we will consider your applications further.
If you have specific questions regarding the openings, you can email kywong@eee.hku.hk , but remember to put in “Graduate Student Openings 2010-11” as the subject line. Please also send your resume to that email.
