[CA][EE]Ph.D POSITION at McGill University for Summer/Fall 2010

The MBE group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University has several PhD opening positions in the following research areas.
(1) Nanowire transistors and memristors
(2) MBE growth of semiconductor nanostructures (nitride and oxide-based) and their device applications
(3) Biosensors (mainly focused on nanowire and nanotube based DNA sensors and DNA sequencing)

Additionally, we have ongoing research activities in the development of semiconductor nanostructures, nanoscale lasers, and solar cells. Our research efforts span from materials growth, device design, fabrication, and characterization, to system-level integration. Students with background in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, and bioengineering are strongly encouraged to apply. Some of the basic requirements include:
1. Master degree in related fields. Students with Bachelor degrees will also be considered but need to apply for the Master degree program first.
2. GRE (>1100) and TOEFL (>100 for iBT). Applicants with lower TOEFL scores but strong academic/research background will also be considered.
