We are looking for self-motivated graduate students (Master or Ph.D.) who are interested in surface science, bioengineering and biophysics, starting from Fall term, 2010.
In the Laboratory of Biocolloids & Biointerfaces (LoBB), we work on experimental biophysical and biomedical studies of self-assembled biomembranes using atomic force microscopy, Langmuir-Blodgett technique, and a variety of surface tensiometry methods.
Given the interdisciplinary nature of our research, students from Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science, etc, are all welcome to apply. The selected students will be supported by TA or RA, both with tuition waiver.
Students who are interested in these openings are encouraged to contact Prof. Yi Zuo directly (yzuo@hawaii.edu). More detailed description of research in LoBB can be found at http://www2.hawaii.edu/~yzuo/
Some basic requirements for admission are: transcript, three letters of recommendation, GRE scores, TOEFL scores (600 minimum for TA). You may find the details at http://www.hawaii.edu/graduatestudies/admissions/html/admissions.htm#gdrequirements
